A unique film screening at the Eric Morecambe Statue, Morecambe. Morecambe Dances is a short film devised by a team of artists led by Jenny McCabe (Lancaster) Vicky Van Mechelen (Morecambe) and Helen Bendon (London).
The film focuses in on different features along the prom where local dance groups and passers-by can be seen breaking out into routines and improvisations including a pushchair conga, a tap dancing duet and syncronised swimmers on dry land!
Crowds are invited to gather at 7pm when there will be live music and refreshments and a chance to dance before the screening.
Kind residents have allowed for the film to be projected from their living room onto the giant outdoor screen provided by the Nuffield Theatre.
The film will be shown at 8pm or whenever it gets dark enough!
There will be an after-film party at the Kings Arms, opposite Eric, with the jive band Jivehoot, 9pm - 12pm, all are welcome.
The project has been supported by Awards for All, Nuffield Theatre and Lancaster City Council.
