**LA VOLUNTEER SOCIAL**, Sunday 11th October, Top Spoons, 7pm

Come along on Sunday night to get to know other volunteers and Lancaster Arts staff. After Weatherspoons we'll head to Lancaster Music Festival! 

 

VOLUNTEER INDUCTION AND SAFEGUARDING SESSION, Tuesday 13th October, 3:30-5pm, Peter Scott Gallery

The first half of this session is for anyone who missed the first volunteer induction. We will provide you with an overview of volunteer activity for the next year and ask you to fill out our Lancaster Arts volunteer application form. You will also receive invigilation training. 

At 4pm we will then be providing a safeguarding session. This is for anyone who wishes to take part in any activities which involve children or vulnerable adults. 

 

CREATIVE ARTS: PILKINGTON'S TILES AND POTTERY

In partnership with Lancaster University Students’ Union (LUSU) Lancaster Arts has produced an exciting creative arts project which focusses on the use of the Peter Scott Gallery collection as an engagement tool for young people.

To develop this engagement work further we are working with Lancaster University’s engineering department to create a richer and more varied schools programme. We would like volunteers to assist with the delivery of in-school and on-campus sessions. If this interests you then please come to the safeguarding session on Tuesday 13th October in the Peter Scott Gallery at 3:30pm. More information about the Creative Arts project will be provided. 

 

CONSERVATION WORKSHOP, Thursday 15th October 2015, 5-7pm, Peter Scott Gallery

A new opportunity for all Lancaster Arts volunteers to learn about conservation and the preservation of a collection. 
This interactive workshop will take you through the procedures followed by the Peter Scott Gallery and will provide you with an overview of conservation processes with a focus on ceramics.

This workshop will take place in the Manton Room in the Peter Scott Gallery on 15th October from 5-7pm. 
There are limited places available so please book your place by contacting Caroline at caroline@lancasterarts.org.

 

MUSEUM TAKEOVER DAY, planning session 21st October, 1:30pm, Bowland North Seminar Room 27.

The 20th November will be Museum Takeover Day in which children and young people are invited to takeover Lancaster Arts.

Lancaster Arts volunteers and Ambassadors will be given the task of arranging a weekend of activity for local Brownies and Guides. This activity will start on the evening of the takeover day itself and will lead to a weekend of activity planned by volunteers. 

If you're interested then please come to the first planning session on Wednesday 21st October in Bowland North Seminar Room 27. 

 

EVENT MANAGEMENT IN THE ARTS AND BEYOND [Part 1], Monday 26th October 2015, 10am -12noon (week 4)

Creating your own event: practical events management experience. This is a two part course and the start of ongoing support to realise a Live at LICA volunteer-lead event.

Looking for more experience of working with senior school students? We are providing Lancaster Arts volunteers with the chance to deliver a creative art-based workshop for a group of senior school students aged 13-15.
