Dates: Saturday 25th - Sunday 26th July 2015

This is a Visual Art Champion project supported by Curious Minds, Northwest Bridge Organisation for Arts Council England.
Artist Teacher Associates (ATA) are delighted to announce that bookings are open for their first residential summer school for artist teachers at the Peter Scott Gallery, Lancaster University.
The weekend will be led by artist/ curator Ellie Barrett, and is aimed at artists who work in education, engage with current practice and wish to develop their own artwork. It is also an opportunity to recharge your creative batteries and meet colleagues from all over the North West and beyond.
ABOUT THE COURSE
This July, Artist Teachers Associates opens the doors of the Summer School Residency for the first time. Over one weekend, the gallery will become the classroom and fellow artists will be classmates in order to facilitate engaging new projects and activities.
Experiences of school and learning will be revisited and reimagined, offering artists a creative and exciting environment to connect not only with their own arts practice, but to develop new connections to their peers. This will give arts educators the opportunity to explore new ways of perceiving, constructing and presenting work as they respond to a project brief designed to present new challenges and trigger critical discussion. Bringing together one-to-one tutorials, group critiques and quick-fire making projects, the programme will support growth in personal arts practice as well as generate a dynamic new community of arts educators who are able to offer one another support and guidance.
