Photography Competition

Photography Competition Winners.

Many thanks to all the local residents who submitted photographs for our 'water' themed competition.  We're delighted that Jonathan Bean from 'BeanPhoto' judged the entries and selected our overall winner below.

Winning Entry

'Interference' by Darren Andrews

Darren Andrews, Interference

Jonathan Bean said this about the winning entry:

Darren's photo was a standout winner for me, simple, beautiful, extremely well observed and well handled. Darren has captured something easily overlooked or passed by, a leaf fallen by oil spilled from a car and rainbowing out in the wet road, but in stopping to frame it in his camera he allows us to stop with him and take a few moments to consider this mundane moment, showing us both natural and man-made detritus, and finding the beauty in both.

Highly Commended

Jonathan Bean's comments on this entry

I loved Chris's unique take on the theme of water. An image which hinted at a wider story beyond it's frozen moment.

Christina Quine, Wave of Water Droplets

Jonathan Bean's comments on this entry

Christina's entry was equally compelling, a really well made photograph with
a hint of the make held in one of it's droplets.

All the submitted entries will be displayed at the Music Room within The Storey on Saturday 21st February 2015 between 11am-4pm.
