Curate the Campus: A Live at LICA Pilot Project

Performance

Curate the Campus is a new initiative that sees us develop a strand of outdoor, site-specific and public realm activity. The project unlocks the many amazing spaces and locations across the campus and beyond in which to develop innovative new site-based artworks.

This new initiative sees us develop a strand of outdoor, site-specific and public realm arts activity. The project unlocks the many amazing spaces and locations across the campus and beyond in which to develop innovative new site-based artworks.

The initiative grows from previous Nuffield-commissioned projects, including Quarantine's The Soldiers Song, Proto-type Theater's Fortnight and Rajni Shah's Glorious, that benefited from significant R&D time in various locations on campus before moving into the city centre and are now being seen nationally at major venues and festivals (Manchester Art Gallery, Bristol Old Vic, Spill Festival, Fierce Festival, Barbican etc).

May 2011 sees a pilot fortnight of events, installations, performances, web-based projects and artists in residence from the likes of Acrojou, Invisible Flock, Juneau Projects, Company Chameleon, imitating the dog, Lancashire Sinfonietta, and artists Laura Muggridge, Manuel Vason, Pete Moser, Rebecca Chesney and S Mark Gubb.

Curate the Campus includes events in partnership with the Dukes, More Music, Live Art Development Agency and Lancashire Sinfonietta.
