Grief Cafe: Half Moon Bay Cafe

Grief Cafe: Half Moon Bay Cafe

Performance

In addition to her installation This Endless Sea, situated at Half Moon Bay in Heysham, which explores themes of grief and the sea artist Chloë Smith, is running two Grief Cafés.

This Grief Café will be held at Half Moon Bay Café, Smithy Lane, Heysham, LA3 2QH on Thursday 15 June from 5.30-7.00pm. Booking is not mandatory but to help us have an idea of numbers please book below if you can.

You can find details of the other Grief Café in Lancaster on 11 June here.

The Grief Cafés provide an informal space to talk about grief, or simply listen, over tea and cake. Chloë has been running Grief Cafés in her hometown of Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the project Chloë said:
“After my brother died, I found myself feeling isolated in my grief, and so I wanted to create spaces for open conversation, where people could reflect on their own experiences of grief. This Endless Sea welcomes everyone, having experienced grief or
not, to reflect on the beauty of the coastal landscape and our relationship to it.”
