Incarnate and Mutability
Incarnate brings together visions of Butoh from Asian and European perspectives in this exciting collaboration between Marie-Gabrielle and international Butoh exponent Katsura Kan. The late work of Samuel Beckett has inspired this exploration of the cycles of inhale/exhale, birth/death and confinement/feedom.
This piece has been co-commissioned by the Nuffield New Works Programme and Laban, London.
Mutability evokes images of transformation and demonstrates Rotie's solo improvisation style. Voice and body merge into an inimitable language which challenges the form and content of dance.
