Lastness, raiding the archive, and pedagogical practices
Practice Reflected at the Nuffield Theatre, in association with Dance4 presents 'Goat Island: Lastness, raiding the archive, and pedagogical practices in performance'. A performance symposium.
As the company tour their final performance work, this is an opportunity to reflect on the unique contribution Goat Island have made to the field of performance, teaching and collaborative practices in the last twenty years.
Although shaped like a symposium, this is a cross-platform event combining papers, performances and readings responding to three major themes suggested by Goat Island’s work.
Alongside the event is the performance of The Lastmaker (show tickets must be bought separately). Included in the event are Goat Island film-works, a new work in progress from fellow Chicago-based artists Cupola Bobber, creative responses from a range of practitioners, culminating in a meal and party.
The lineup of speakers and artists includes Sara Jane Bailes, Steve Bottoms, Laura Cull, Joe Kelleher, Carl Lavery, Andrew Quick with Karen Juers-Munby, Alan Read, Linda Taylor, David Williams, Simone Kenyon with Neil Callaghan, Dan Belasco Rogers & Sophia New (plan b), Pants, Phil Stanier, Sorrel Muggridge, Cupola Bobber, Fish & Game, Judd Morrissey and Lucy Cash.
