LU Fine Art Degree Show 2012
Showcasing the work of all of Lancaster’s final year BA students ‘We Were Here’ provides a platform for the public to be made aware of the great variety and potential that has been developed through our last 3 years of intense study.
Opening for public viewing on Tuesday 19th of June from 6:00pm the show will run until 28th of June in the Peter Scott Gallery, the art studios and the LICA building. The show is entirely student led, all work produced by us and all the funds raised ourselves for our catalogue, advertisements and admin.
As ‘We Were Here’ is a collection of work by a whole year group of wildly different students there is no specific theme. Each student has explored their chosen field and might have worked within just one discipline or moulded aspects of many into stunning contemporary results. You will be able to see a huge range of drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, animation, video, digital manipulation, installation and all those between.
‘We Were Here’ is a title that relates to our belief that so many individual practices can work together and it represents how glad we are that our last three years have been spent specifically in Lancaster. A very common human urge to leave a legacy in a place that has been vital in our lives.
