Martin Roscoe and Friends
Founder and director of the Ribble Valley International Piano Week as well as an internationally renowned soloist and recitalist, Martin Roscoe is both an ambassador for his instrument and an ambassador for the North West. He begins this evening on his own, playing one of Mozartís finest sonatas and Schumannís set of Romantic fantasies inspired equally by a fictional character and by the composerís love for his future wife Clara. After the interval Martin is joined by a talented quartet of string-playing colleagues for Schubertís much loved ëTroutí Quintet, in five relaxed, sunny movements including a set of rippling variations on the composerís own song ëDie Forelleí (ëThe Troutí).
