Mel Brimfield: Exhibition Launch

Join us in the Peter Scott Gallery at Lancaster University from 6.30pm as we launch two new temporary exhibitions:-

This is Performance Art - Part Two: Experimental Theatre and Cabaret

Mel Brimfield’s complex practice takes a skewed and tangled romp through the development of performance art, simultaneously revealing and inventing a rich history of collaboration between visual artists, dancers, theatre makers, political activists and comedians. It sees the debut of the second episode of This Is Performance Art, Brimfield’s ongoing fictional TV series.

Advisory: this exhibition contains infrequent strong swearing.

FREE Public talk with Mel Brimfield. 12noon, 20 January. Nuffield Theatre

New to the Collection: Patrick Caulfield.

A display which marks the acquisition of a series of prints by the internationally renowned British painter and printmaker Patrick Caulfield (1936 – 2005). The Wall Plate series consists of four prints that show Caulfield’s fascination with everyday objects and with light.
