Peter Cropper - violin, Martin Roscoe - piano

The much-admired former first violinist of The Lindsays, Lancashire-born Peter Cropper, is teaming up with Martin Roscoe to perform and record all ten of Beethovenís magnificent series of sonatas for violin and piano. This programme consists of a characteristically ambitious piece from Beethovenís first set, dedicated to his famous teacher Salieri; the ëSpringí Sonata, which more than lives up to its title in freshness and optimism; and a highly dramatic work showing Beethoven on the threshold of his greatest achievements.
