RNCM Chamber Orchestra

At the centre of this programme is one of the most romantic cello concertos, a work that reveals the rich, nostalgic poetry of ëthe beloved dreamer whom we know as Schumanní. The German-born, Italian-based composer Hans Werner Henze at first composed in a highly accessible, Stravinskian, neo-classical style as his attractive First Symphony shows. The concert ends with Beethovenís gently exuberant Eighth Symphony in which the music is propelled by the composerís inventive zest.
