'The end of the affair' charts a love affair (through song) of a young woman who begins a Saturday morning asking the eternal question - o tell me the truth about love?
Lancashire born soprano, Amanda Roocroft, has become one of the most enduring British singers of her generation and has won international recognition for her recital and operatic performances.
This unusual dramatic recital is devised in two halves and tells the story through 30 songs by a variety of composers including Britten, Schumann, Boulanger, Brahms, Ireland, Strauss, Mompou, Rachmaninov, Grieg, Copland and Kurt Weill. It is all told in the first person and all from only her point of view - a 21st century Liederspeil.
