The Gipsy Brothers, established in 1994, is a Budapest-based band that plays in many styles,
capturing different moods and touching a variety of cultures from Balkan and Hungarian gipsy to
Django gipsy jazz. Members of the band enjoy a specially close relationship; all are relatives and all share the same spirit and tradition of music-making, tapping into their roots. Cimbalom, fiddle, viola, guitar, clarinet, tarogata, pan-flute and double bass rub shoulders in music to set the foot tapping and the senses alight. With engagements all over the world, the Gipsy Brothers pay homage to their heritage as well as looking to the new, playing with a buoyant, infectious energy. They will fire up a cold January evening with their fervour!
