The Marriage of Figaro - Mozart's timeless opera
Mozartís masterpiece describes the racy events of one crazy dayí in Count Almavivaís household. Sexuality, falsehood, aristocratic immorality, social class divisions, intrigue and disguise jostle for position in The Marriage of Figaro. Mozartís magnificent music drives this much-loved opera which contains some of the composerís greatest arias and ensembles. We laugh at the comedy, shake our heads at Cherubinoís youthful ardour and are brought to tears by the Countessís grace in the face of her errant husbandís indiscretions. In their fresh and vital interpretation, the stars of tomorrow from the Royal Northern College of Music never disappoint, combining thrilling vocal talent with fizzing instrumental playing.
