When will the September roses bloom? Last night was only a comedy.
Goat Island began this, their 8th performance work, with the question: How do you repair? Drawing on sources including The Wind (a silent film from 1928), the history of teaching the alphabet, the fibonacci sequence, the poetry of Paul Celan, the philosophy of Simone Weil and household repair manuals, the piece questions our place in a damaged world and our aptitude at repairing it.
When will the September roses bloom? Last night was only a comedy is designed to take place over two nights. Each night offers a complete experience in itself and audience members can attend one or both nights. We encourage you to take advantage of our joint ticket offer and see both parts, which differ in content and structure.
