Volunteer

Volunteers needed for Are You Lost?

Are you... passionate about bringing art to unlikely places?
Are you... inspired by the natural world?
Are you...curious about the Forest of Bowland?

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us bring a series of art installations to life this summer!

Are you Lost? is an exciting new commission by artist Rob St John and produced by Lancaster Arts, alongside the Forest of Bowland National Landscape and national program Nature Calling. The project features three installations of video, sound, and sculpture in unlikely places in and around the Forest of Bowland, plus five days of exciting activities and events.

Lancaster Arts are looking for volunteers to help us spread the word, invigilate the exhibitions, welcome visitors and offer further information about the events, support and take part in creative workshops, and more!

As an Are You Lost? Volunteer, you will get:

  • The chance to experience a unique installation in some unusual locations

  • The opportunity to take part in creative workshops and events

  • Experience supporting a nationally funded arts project (a great CV booster!)

  • A social day in the sun (hopefully), meeting a variety of people in a beautiful location

  • Basic refreshments throughout the day

The first two installations took place in Nelson in June and Dunsop Bridge in early August but we are still looking for volunteers for the finale in Gisburn Forest on 30-31 August.

There is no need to be available for the full weekend, we welcome people who could only make one day - or part of one!

Are you... our newest volunteer?

Whether you’d like to try something different and meet new people, or develop existing skills and enhance your CV, we provide exciting arts opportunities for everyone that are interesting, rewarding and distinctive.

Who are we looking for?
Anyone who shares our love of music, theatre and the arts and would like to meet new people, develop new skills and be closer to our world-class arts venue.

What do Lancaster Arts volunteers do?

Our volunteers contribute in many ways, from greeting audiences at shows, to supporting our projects with artists. Each volunteer position offers a unique insight into the workings of an established arts venue, and provides a hands-on introduction to the range of roles within the organisation. It is an opportunity to develop a range of transferable skills, receive specialised training, and access valuable developmental opportunities.
