Erlendis Quartet (Watch on Demand)

We present another chance to hear Erlendis Quartet’s UK debut from their sublime concert in the Great Hall last November.

BACH Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp minor
DVOŘÁK Two Slavonic Dances
MOZART Divertimento in D major
BROUWER Cuban landscape with rain
LECUONA Andalucia Suite

Lancaster Arts was very proud to present the UK debut of the Erlendis Quartet last November and to make the most of this remarkable concert, we filmed the evening for future viewing! Formed in Poland in 2013, the Erlendis Quartet has established itself as one of the most exciting quartets of their generation touring the USA, Canada, and Europe. The name ‘erlendis’ comes from the Icelandic word for ‘overseas’, reflecting the quartet’s dedication to exploring beyond the boundaries of the familiar guitar quartet. Their telepathic ensemble playing, broad dynamic range and emotional yet precise interpretations are signature features and Lancaster Arts is delighted to introduce these remarkable musicians into our programme.

An absolutely amazing evening of stunning musicianship! The Erlendis Quartet are so beautifully and finely tuned to each other and the music they play… What a treat and what a coup for Lancaster Arts.
