Lancaster Arts’ Festival of Questions is a 3-week series of special events, panel discussions and cultural projects in February 2016.

Lancaster Arts are hosting two days of panel discussions at The Storey, in Lancaster’s city centre, on Saturday 6th and Saturday 20 February. Offering viewpoints from marginalized perspectives as well as the mainstream, with speakers from across the political spectrum, these FestQ ‘Days of Questions‘ seek to explore the cultural, social and political climate of our time.

On Saturday 6 February, we explore questions such as;

 

Should We Welcome Refugees? with Colin Grant (chair), David Goodhart, Gulwali Passarlay, Homa Khaleeli

Are We All in it Together? with Melissa Benn (Chair), David Kynaston, Lynsey Hanley, Shiv Malik

In What Ways Can Older People Challenge Loneliness? with Katherine Froggatt (Chair), Andy Smith, Denise Nardone, Emma Rose

The Lecture Theatre, 1.30pm

What are the Mainstream Media Representations of Black People Today? with Joy Francis, SuAndi, Season Butler, Graham Mort (chair)

The War in Syria: How Should the World Respond? with Malu Halasa (chair), Simon Mabon, Robin Yassin-Kassab, Idress Ahmad
