FLOW: Co-Development Workshop

FLOW: Co-Development Workshop

Events

A workshop using sound and the voice which will help shape the event, Flow: Marking the Mill Race

What will Flow: Marking the Mill Race be? Come and join choir leader and vocal teacher Loz Kaye and artist David Boultbee to help us find out. Flow: Marking the Mill Race will be a major event in Lancaster’s historic Mill Race quarter on 30 April 2022.

This co-development workshop will be to help plan, shape and test ideas. We are particularly looking for people who can come and support participants to follow the instructions during the event itself on 30 April. It’s critically important that the event is “of the city” and truly reflects its character and people. This is the first time that we have produced this work and we need your help to experiment and decide what fits the city best.

And it is a great chance to help form Flow and work with artists David Boultbee (BREAD Art) and Loz Kaye!

No experience of any kind necessary, just curiosity… although an interest in the environment and/or heritage is very welcome. Come join the torrent…!

We will be working inside and outside so please bring clothing suitable for this.

Flow: Marking the Mill Race is part of an exciting three-year cultural programme, ‘Mill Race: Flow of Change’. This will celebrate the Mill Race area as a core and dynamic part of Lancaster that is informed by its heritage as well as its emerging, contemporary character. The programme will complement the Lancaster High Streets Heritage Action Zone being delivered by Lancaster City Council. Both programmes are funded by Historic England.
