Deploying Chinese aesthetic tradition of paintings and folding screens, Jin
Lipeng’s PhD graduation exhibition — Hide and Seek — alludes to the
invisibility of animal suffering and the force of global capitalist production.
With translucent Chinese ink, delicate fabric and feathers, it evokes a deep
oriental sense and creates a space of poetic, elegant, and ethical meditation.
Around two thousand small painted images populating these panels, invite the
viewer to think about the complexity of human-animal/nature connectivity.
