Invisible Flock: Sand Pilot
In one lifetime you will have taken enough steps to carry you around the world...
Sand Pilot is a project about walking. Made in collaboration with Cedric Robinson, the Queen's official guide to the sands, the project uses the sands of Morecambe Bay and the famous cross-bay walk as a dramatic backdrop to the work.
Sand Pilot is a beautiful and subtle performance that merges text, soundscapes, cultural history and stunning landscape, all experienced on an incredible walk across Morecambe Bay.
Inspired and created from the guide's history, the experience of the walk and the bay itself, as well as personal and unique stories, Invisible Flock invite you to join them for one of four special walks exploring how and why we walk, and the journeys we take in our lives.
Each event includes an 8-mile walk from Arnside to Grange over Sands, guided by Cedric Robinson.
Commissioned by Live at LICA, supported by Arts Council England and Lancashire County Council.
Virtual Lancaster have put together a useful pdf of important safety notes when crossing Morecambe Bay.
A percentage of your ticket price will go to Cedric's chosen charity.

Booking & Important Information
Due to the recent bad weather: The walk on Saturday 22nd Sept has been cancelled.
Monday 24th Sept walk is still running but has been modified and unfortunately we are unable to cross the bay. The walk will start and end in Arnside.
Under no circumstances set out across the bay without registering with the company on the morning of the event, and accompanied by Cedric Robinson and his team. The bay and its sands are dangerous without expert guidance.
Tickets can be picked up at the starting point of the walk, and do not need to be collected at Live at LICA.
Please ensure you provide a valid email address so we can provide you with the latest information the night before the event: be aware that extreme weather conditions may mean we have to cancel or reschedule your walk.
Please bring a mobile phone with you on the walk.
The meeting point is in Arnside, at the fountain, opposite the Albion Pub.
Please bring your own suncream, food and drink (a flask of something warm will be handy).
Wear old trainers and dress according to the weather forecast (bear in mind that it can get very cold and windy on the bay. Walks may go ahead in heavy rain, as long as the sand is safe, so please bring appropriate waterproofs).
