Award-winning experimental vocal trio juice and jazz/classical quintet Tangent (featuring BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Trish Clowes) present a programme which shows off their humour, ingenuity, wit and talent, and which draws on classical, world music, jazz, folk, pop, improvisation and theatre.

At the heart of the evening, is a brand-new work by renowned young composer Luke Styles, currently Glyndebourne's Young Composer In Residence. Setting a native Canadian folk tale, the piece blends the worlds of contemporary classical music, jazz and improvisation in a quirky and playful story telling. Style’s work is a commission for the New Music Biennial, which will present a series of 20 brand new music commissions to audiences across the UK in 2014, including showcases in London and Glasgow coinciding with the Commonwealth Games. Lancaster will be the first venue to host the premiere of the work.
