Pioneers of Percussionbrings together pioneering solo works from the most innovative and creative composers of the 20th Century. Takemitsu’s Seasons explores our changing ecology through a delicate metallic landscape, whilst Psappha explodes with muscular and abrasive rhythm taken from ancient Greek text. Feldman's great anti-percussion composition twinkles like stars in the night and we hear a world premiere by ‘brilliant musical scientist’
Nicole Lizée, inspired by the glitches of outmoded and well-worn technology. Joby Burgess supplies the ‘Wow factor – hauntingly tribal at one moment and fantastically futuristic at another.’
