Please note the venue for this concert has changed and will now take place at the Chaplaincy Centre, Lancaster University rather than Lancaster Priory as previously advertised.
American violinist and Grammy nominated artist, Ariana Kim, performs in Lancaster for the very first time in the intimate setting of Lancaster University's Chaplaincy Centre, together with Lancaster Arts programmer and classical guitarist, Michael Poll.
Embark on a musical flight with a programme that traverses the emotional spectrum. Bach's Partita No. 3 for Solo Violin lifts off with intricate Baroque patterns, then Paganini's Sonata Concertata in A Major showcases the violin's ability to navigate complex emotional terrains with agility and grace. The journey completes with Astor Piazzolla's Histoire du Tango.
Ariana Kim has become one of the most respected artists of her generation. Together with the Aizuri Quartet, she was awarded the Gold Medal at the 2017 Osaka International Competition, and a 2019 Grammy nomination for her debut album. Ariana is joined by Michael Poll who has performed across North and South America and Europe. In 2022, he conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Lancaster House.
