In partnership with Lancaster University School of Arts.

Join us for our free artist conversation programme. Artists making exciting work across a range of media will be joined by researchers or those working in relevant fields to discuss the ideas, themes and questions driving their work. There will be plenty of opportunity for the audience to join in the conversation and connect with artists working in our region and beyond.

Our fourth conversation of the season is with Helena Czeczenikow.

Helena is a graduate of Lancaster University Fine Art BA, and of the MA Contemporary Art and Archaeology at UHI Orkney. Her PhD research project at Lancaster is an investigation into the World War II system of fortifications in Eastern Poland, linking fields of contemporary art and contemporary archaeology.

Using drawing and print-making as her tools of research, Helena explores the networks of connection and disruption that these structures generate, challenging the perceptions of their static nature.
