The New York Times recently selected this recital as one of the ten most important musical events of the year. David Greilsammer is well known for his audacious and novel programmes. In a unique blend of works by Cage and Scarlatti he explores the soundworlds of both composers to intoxicating effect. You might imagine that Cage is the more experimental of the two? But the truth is both were pioneers of their age who brought new sonorities and techniques into writing for the piano. Two pianos will be on stage - one prepared and one au naturel.
