A double act who marry stand-up comedy with choreographic minimalism and a touch of philosophy

New Art Club aim to ensure that audiences are entertained by the possibilities of mixing dance and stand-up comedy.
New Art Club was formed in 2001 by dancers Tom Roden and Pete Shenton. Described by critics as "the Dame Margot Fonteyn(s) of comedy", and "a double act who marry stand-up comedy with choreographic minimalism and a touch of philosophy" (The Times), New Art Club aim to ensure that audiences are entertained by the possibilities of mixing dance and stand-up comedy.
In Extra Ordinary World, the award-winning duo are on a quest to find the ultimate dance craze. Join Tom and Pete as they attempt to create a whole new dance, in a show crammed with such gems as ‚'Garden Gnome Sex Attack', a homage to opposable thumbs, and 'Hamster on a Wheel'.
If Flight of the Conchords danced rather than sang they'd be a lot like dance duo New Art Club

New Art Club: Masterclass. Thursday 3rd December from 9.30am - 1.30pm
New Art Club base much of their performance work on partner work and improvisation. This masterclass will not study set repertoire per se but rather offer an insight into the working practices of the company through studying its choreographic devices.
