OPEN2015: Artist Summit
Thursday 7 May & Friday 8 May 2015
Peter Scott Gallery, Lancaster University
Two days of peer to peer exchange, conversation, ideas and presentation for artists practising across and between disciplines at any career stage or agegroup. During OPEN2015 Live at LICA is considering the question ‘What is a 21st Century Art Centre?’ and by extension the question of what sort of art might be created in relation to such a container/platform/ideology? In recent years we’ve helped artists realise ideas and added to our art collection works that conjure a live, active quality and instigated projects of a socially relational nature increasingly focused on public engagement. For this two-day Artist Summit we invite practitioners and makers to assemble for an expansive, collegiate and informal dialogue on topics within this trajectory. Works in progress will also be presented by London and Brussels based visual artist David Raymond Conroy and theatre maker and performer Andy Smith. We look forward to greeting you at our summit. FYI most artist talks and panel discussions will be streamed live, link here and/or follow @liveatlica on twitter #LaLOPEN for details.
