Shakespeare Schools Festival: Something Wicked This Way Comes

Shakespeare Schools Festival: Something Wicked This Way Comes

Performance

The UK's largest youth drama Festival comes to Lancaster. This year 50 theatres across the country will stage 500 abridged Shakespeare productions. 4 local schools from Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding area stage 4 different half-hour Shakespeare plays.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival offers young people from every secondary school the opportunity and support to perform Shakespeare's most famous plays in their local professional theatre. Following a training day for teacher/directors, workshops with the UK's National Youth Theatres, and a six-month journey of rehearsal, these talented young people are now ready to step into the Shakespearean spotlight.

Participating schools are:-

  • Dallam School - The Tempest

  • Heysham High School Sports College - Othello

  • Queen Elizabeth School - King Lear

  • Morecambe High School - Romeo & Juliet
