The amazing sounds of ancient India have survived millennia, inspiring both Eastern and Western musical traditions. They share one origin: the Thar Desert and its culture, which is situated in Rajasthan in northeastern India. The Chants of the Thar Desert crosses the flamenco and the Sefardic sounds of Mediterranean Sea cultures together with the “atma” (soul) inspired melodies of Indian ancient traditions, offering a unique musical treat. In these times of social and physical isolation, we are delighted to present a concert that is well beyond our horizons, capturing the unique beauty and Spirit of the Thar Desert.

Lancaster Arts would like to be sure this remarkable concert is available for all so we are introducing a Pay it Forward ticketing scheme. If you can afford it please consider purchasing an additional ‘Pay it Forward’ ticket which will be allocated to those who would not be able to access this concert otherwise.

We’re committed to ensuring cost is no barrier to our work. If cost is a barrier to attending this event please email boxoffice@lancasterarts.org
